Cheryl and Phil were married Aug. 4, 1968.
They have two children, Chris Rhoades and Carrie (Dave) Van Cleave, both of San Antonio, Texas.
Their lives have been full of adventure since they were first married. They lived in a farmhouse near Warsaw as newlyweds, then Lake Papakeechie before moving to Clovis, California, so they could spend their time in the mountains.
After their son was born, they moved back to Indiana and spent 37 years in Goshen raising their children and operating Rhoades Tree Service.
Two years ago, their best adventure began when they moved to Live Oak, Texas, to be near their grandchildren, Andy Van Cleave, Faron Rhoades and Jake Van Cleave. These three boys have been their most fun adventure and bring them so much joy and keep them young.
Phil and Cheryl are currently on a two-week anniversary trip to Glacier National Park, with plans to go to Canada, where they honeymooned 50 years ago.
